New shoulder coming soon

My right shoulder joint has been degrading over the past 2 years and mutual agreement with the medical folks was that a complete shoulder was required to correct the condition. Due to age and other considerations, it has been decided that a reverse complete shoulder replacement is the better option. With a reverse replacement, the ball is attached to the torso and the socket is attached to the arm. While I am only now learning of the procedure, it was initially performed in France 25 years ago and has become standard.

The surgery is scheduled for mid-October when I return from the ramble to Utah and Rocky Mountain National Park. I’ve been told that full recovery may take a year, so we’ll see how that progresses.
